شدد الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الجمعة على أنّ الولايات المتحدة لن تنسى 11 أيلول/سبتمبر 2001، وستواصل "القتال"، وذلك خلال مراسم أقيمت في مقر وزارة الدفاع لإحياء الذكرى السنوية الخامسة والعشرين للهجمات.
وقال ترامب الذي غاب عن المراسم التي أقيمت في مدينة نيويورك "اليوم نجدد القسم المقدس الذي أديناه لأول مرة باسمهم قبل ربع قرن. لن ننسى أبدا، على الإطلاق. لهذا نقاتل اليوم". أضاف "ليس لدينا خيار. لا يمكن الا أن ننتصر. نقاتل بشراسة. نقاتل لننتصر".
