قال الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الاثنين إن روسيا وأوكرانيا وافقتا على الامتناع عن استهداف منشآت الطاقة، غداة انتقاده الضربات التي تنفذها كييف على منشآت نفطية عائدة لموسكو.
وأفاد ترامب في منشور على منصته تروث سوشال "وافقت أوكرانيا على عدم قصف أهداف الطاقة الروسية. وافقت روسيا على القيام بالأمر ذاته! الأرجح أن (ارتفاع) سعر الديزل في العالم سببه الحرب الأوكرانية الروسية، وليس (حرب) إيران" التي شنتها واشنطن وإسرائيل في 28 شباط/فبراير.
وتسببت الحرب في الشرق الأوسط بارتفاع حاد في أسعار النفط وموارد الطاقة عالميا، ما أدى إلى زيادة أسعار الوقود ومعدلات التضخم في الولايات المتحدة، قبل الانتخابات النصفية المقررة في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر.
