Le président de la banque centrale américaine (Fed) Kevin Warsh a estimé mercredi que l'inflation était "trop élevée, depuis trop longtemps", justifiant ainsi la décision de l'institution de relever son taux directeur.
"Les risques d'inflation sont en hausse", a affirmé le responsable, "tandis que (ceux liés au) marché du travail sont équilibrés", ce qui autorise la Fed à se concentrer, pour l'heure, sur l'accélération des prix.
