رفضت الولايات المتحدة، للعام الثاني على التوالي، منح رئيس السلطة الفلسطينية محمود عباس تأشيرة دخول للمشاركة في اجتماعات الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في نيويورك الأسبوع المقبل، وفق ما أفاد مصدر مطلع الأربعاء.
وفي السياق، أفاد بيان صادر عن وزارة الخارجية الأميركية بأن "الولايات المتحدة ستمدد العقوبات التي تحظر منح تأشيرات دخول لأعضاء منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية ومسؤولي السلطة الفلسطينية، بسبب عجزهم عن إنجاز الإصلاحات، خلافا للالتزامات التي قطعوها للولايات المتحدة، واستمرار نشاطاتهم المقوّضة لآفاق السلام".
